Equal Opportunity + Access
Creating an atmosphere that recognizes and protects acceptance and inclusion
Emporia State University is committed to creating an atmosphere that recognizes and protects acceptance and inclusion for all members of Hornet Nation, including, but not limited to faculty, staff, and students. As such, ESU’s discrimination and harassment policy explicitly prohibits all forms of discrimination, sexual misconduct and harassment, including, but not limited to, sexual violence, and all other types of violence.
Discrimination + Harassment
Discrimination and harassment occurs when an individual’s membership within a protected group results in harassment or discrimination that is so severe, pervasive, or objectively offensive that it has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with a person’s academic performance, employment, or equal opportunity to participate in or benefit from University programs. Here you will find information outlining the rights and resources available to all parties involved in a complaint of discrimination and harassment as well as the procedures of the university for addressing alleged violations.
