Newman Regional Health, 1201 West 12th, Emporia KS
Newman Regional Health is a 25-bed critical access hospital. The hospital provides a wide range of medical and surgical services such as women's services, critical care, level II nursery, 24-hour emergency services, sleep center, wound care, outpatient services, cancer treatment, and hospice services. Newman Regional Health has a history of support for nursing education. A hospital-based diploma nursing program closed in 1993 and now the hospital gives its full support to the baccalaureate program offered through Emporia State University.
Colmery O-Neil Veterans Hospital, Topeka KS
Students go to the veteran’s hospital for the psychiatric/mental health nursing clinical experience. This facility is located approximately 55 miles from Emporia and provides a census with a wide variety of psychiatric mental health conditions. Students participate in one-on-one interaction, group therapy, team meetings, and activity therapies.
Emporia Presbyterian Manor, Emporia KS
Emporia Presbyterian Manor is a continuing care retirement community providing several levels of living for the older adult client. These levels of living include: independent living, assisted living, and nursing facility care. This clinical facility is a part of the Presbyterian Manors of Mid America. The facility offers students a wide variety of experiences in gerontological nursing.
Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS
Lawrence Memorial Hospital provides clinical experiences for nursing students. Founded in 1921, LMH is 173-bed hospital located in Lawrence, KS. Through the years, hospital additions have been built and healthcare services have expanded, a trend that continues today. In March 2009, LMH completed a three-year $45 million expansion which included new facilities for Emergency and Surgery and additional space for Maternity, Intensive Care and Critical Care. A new 18-bed wing was added which allowed the hospital to convert semi-private patient rooms to all private.

Mercy Regional Health Center, a part of Via Christi Health, is an acute care facility licensed to operate 150 beds in two facilities offering a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient clinical services. Students participate in learning experiences with a diverse population of clients in the medical unit, surgical unit, obstetrical unit, urgent care unit, emergency department, and the intensive care unit. Mercy is located approximately 75 miles from Emporia.
Morris County Hospital and Health Department, Council Grove KS Morris County Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) located in Council Grove, Kansas approximately 40 miles from Emporia. Senior nursing students have opportunities to care for all ages, newborn to elderly. At Morris County Health Department, senior level nursing students have learning opportunities specific to the care of aggregates and communities. This facility provides professional public health nursing service, including immunizations, WIC nutrition program, family planning, nursing clinics, child care facilities, education, environmental health services, senior services, and home and community-based services.

Stormont Vail HealthCare (Stormont Vail Regional Health Center and Cotton O'Neil Clinics) is utilized to provide students opportunities to care for clients across the lifespan. Stormont Vail is a 586-bed acute care referral center in Northeast Kansas approximately 60 miles from Emporia.
Student Health Services, Emporia State University, Emporia KS Students work with RNs and APRNs who provide cares to college students who seek health services at the university's student health services department.
Unified School Districts #252 and #253, Emporia and South Lyon County KS Public school systems provide nursing students an opportunity to see the role of the school nurse and to observe the reactions of mostly well children to minor and chronic illnesses and the treatments rendered. Students gain practice in assessing minor illnesses and injuries in and in assisting in vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings. Immunization schedules are also reviewed.
Wesley Medical Center, Wichita KS
The Wesley Medical Center pediatric unit is utilized to provide students opportunities to care for children and families with a wide variety of needs and illnesses. Students have opportunities to work with advanced practice nurses and clinical nurse specialists in the pediatric intensive care unit. This facility is located in Wichita approximately 80 miles from Emporia.
