Kansas residents over 60 can audit courses for free

Over 60? Learn at no cost

Residents of Kansas who are 60 years of age or over may audit courses at no cost with the permission of the instructor on a space available basis. Students only pay for books and supplies. Students may audit courses if special arrangements are made with the Registrar and the instructor during the first ten days of the semester.

Step-by-Step Guide to Applying

  1. Complete the Special Enrollment Form.pdf.
  2. Return your form to the Registration Office by fax at 620-777-8706, email at reguser@emporia.edu, or by mail to Emporia State Registration, Campus Box 4026, 1 Kellogg Circle, Emporia, KS 66801. You can also bring the form to our office located in the Emporia State Plumb Hall.
  3. When you are admitted, you will receive an acceptance letter with your Emporia State E-Number. You will then start at the Hornet 365 First Time User page to activate your account.
