Alumni Awards + Recognitions

Emporia State University has many highly accomplished alumni in a variety of disciplines. The ESU Alumni Association is proud to honor these distinguished Hornets by sharing their achievements with you.

Distinguished Alumni

The Distinguished Alumni award is the highest honor that can be granted to an alumnus or alumna of Emporia State University by the ESU Alumni Association.

Outstanding Recent Graduate

The Outstanding Recent Graduate award recognizes an outstanding recent graduate from each of the undergraduate colleges and schools at ESU.

University Service Citation

Started in 1980 by the ESU Alumni Association, the intent of the University Service Citation Award is to recognize unique and significant service to Emporia State University.

Hornet Heritage Family

The Hornet Heritage Family Award, sponsored by the ESU Alumni Association, annually recognizes a multi-generational family of Hornet alumni and former students.

Newberg Senior Awards

The Dwight and Ida Curry Newberg Outstanding and Distinguished Senior awards recognize ESU seniors who have excelled academically and are highly engaged on campus and in the community.
