ESU Campus to Close for Break; Foundation to Have Special Hours

The Emporia State University campus will close for nearly two weeks for winter break. During that time, all IT services, including the university website, will be taken offline for testing.

The ESU Foundation, meanwhile, will be open to accept end-of-year gifts, with alternative ways to give when the computer system is brought down.

The full campus will close at the end of business Wednesday, Dec. 22 and reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022.

During those two weeks, the Information Technology department will take systems offline on Dec. 29 and 30 as well as Jan. 3, 4 and 5. This will include the ESU website.

Foundation staff will be on hand at Sauder Alumni Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 27 and 28 and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 29 to assist with end-of-year and other gifts.

Anyone wanting to make a 2021 gift to Emporia State University may deliver the gift in person to 1500 Highland St., by noon Wednesday, Dec. 29.

Checks may be mailed so long as they are postmarked on or before Dec. 31. Credit card gifts may be made online at https://hornetnation.emporia.edu/givenow. Please note the different web address. When the ESU website is down, the giving link on the website will not work.

Although the entire campus re-opens Thursday, Jan. 6, residence halls will not open until noon Sunday, Jan. 16. Classes for the spring semester begin Wednesday, Jan. 19.
