KDWP Expands Research Footprint with Additional Office in Emporia

A second Emporia location will provide the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) with additional storage, laboratory and office space, affording Emporia Research and Survey staff the ability to scale future research efforts. KDWP purchased the former Dynamic Discs building at 3601 W. Sixth Ave. earlier this fall. The agency’s location at 1830 Merchant St. will remain its full-service office for public services such as fishing and hunting licenses, boat registrations, and park permits.


School of Business Expands Entreprenuership-Focused Programs, Opportunities

Emporia State University continues to place an emphasis on high-impact learning opportunities with the launch of the Bobbi and Steve Sauder Center for Entrepreneurial Development and the relaunch of the student-led advertising collective, Studio E. These come after the recent addition of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship, a new program within the School of Business for students interested in entrepreneurship.


ESU Campus to Close for Break; Foundation to Have Special Hours

The Emporia State University campus will close for nearly two weeks for winter break. During that time, all IT services, including the university website, will be taken offline for testing. The ESU Foundation, meanwhile, will be open to accept end-of-year gifts, with alternative ways to give when the computer system is brought down.




Deadline Looms for Premed Fellowship

NTHF Auction Sets $30K Goal for Double Induction Ceremony

The 30th annual National Teachers Hall of Fame auction will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18, with the goal of raising money for Induction Week 2022. The Class of 2020 has had its induction ceremony postponed three times because of CDC guidelines for the COVID-19, so the plan is to induct that five-member class, along with the soon-to-be-selected Class of 2022 during Induction Week, June 13-17, 2022. Because this will be a double induction, costs will be double, and the Hall of Fame is asking everyone who can to be a part of this major fundraiser.
