ESU Campus to Close, Foundation Open During Holiday Break

The Emporia State University Foundation will be open during the last week of the year to accept end-of-year gifts. The rest of campus, however, will be closed between noon Friday, Dec. 22 and 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.

Congress is currently considering revisions to the U.S. tax code which could result in fewer donors being eligible to itemize their charitable contributions in 2018 and beyond. Donors who anticipate being affected may wish to ensure their gifts are made before the 2017 calendar year ends.

Foundation staff will be on hand to assist with these and other gifts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 29.

Anyone wanting to make a 2017 gift to Emporia State University may deliver the gift in person to 1500 Highland St., by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29. Checks may be mailed so long as they are postmarked on or before Dec. 31. Credit card gifts may be made online at https//hornetnation.emporia.edu/givenow through Dec. 31.

Although the entire campus re-opens Tuesday, Jan. 2, students won’t move back into residence halls until noon Sunday, Jan. 14. Classes for the spring semester begin Wednesday, Jan. 17.
