Cold temperatures and chances for snow and ice may be part of weather forecasts right now, but severe weather season is right around the corner.
Emporia State University and Lyon County emergency management departments are teaming up to sponsor the annual National Weather Service Severe Weather Presentation. On Monday, March 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., a meteorologist from the Topeka office of the NWS will present information on severe storm safety, preparedness and awareness in addition to accurate identification of storm features.
The presentation will be in Webb Hall on the second floor of ESU’s Memorial Union, 1301 Market St. The event is free and offered for anyone in the community who would like the information. Free parking is available on Market Street as well as in two parking lots east of the Memorial Union between 13th and 15th avenues.
