The Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center at Emporia State University in partnership with Good Way Gardens and Native Lands Collaborative is hosting a seed swap at 551 E 18th Ave. It will be Sunday (Feb. 4) from 5 to 8 p.m. Registration for the free event is required: https://www.esuparoc.com/parocevents.
Special guests Courtney Masterson of the Native Lands Restoration Collaborative and Nancy Kost of The Buffalo Seed Co. will be sharing resources, education and activities. Topics will include how to grow and save seeds from different crops and garden plants. Seed processing techniques and how to store and label seeds. Guests will learn how local seed systems enhance the diversity of the food system in the face of environmental and market challenges.
Guests are encouraged to bring seeds to share and swap. The Buffalo Seed Co. will have seeds for sale.
