Peterson Planetarium explores weather wonders in April

The weather in Kansas is as dynamic as it is unpredictable, and as snow and ice give way to scorching heat and thunderstorms, ESU’s Peterson Planetarium invites viewers on a wild weather ride with the showing of “Weather: Wonders & Mysteries Revealed” throughout April.



Emporia State makes once-in-a-lifetime contact with International Space Station

Wednesday, April 8, 2026, marked a historic moment for Emporia State University as area students spoke directly with an astronaut aboard the International Space Station using amateur radio. The event took place at Emporia State’s Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center and was viewed by audiences both in person and via livestream.

So it was fitting that the announcement delegation crashed a field trip rather than a classroom session to present the award to Dr. Rebecca Rodriguez Carey.


Science Saturday: Explore the world of plants at ESU
