More than 500 students in intermediate, middle and high schools in Emporia and northeast Kansas will benefit from services provided by a $1.4 million grant to Emporia State University’s TRIO office.

Live performances of two Kansas musicians will kick off Emporia State’s Friday Nights, six straight weeks of events to launch the school year with weekend fun. Lucas Parker Band and Travis Marvin will perform on Friday, Aug. 27, on the Kellogg Circle lawn in front of Plumb Hall.
